Objectives of NUST-SEECS ACM Student Chapter:

- To facilitate the NUST-SEECS students in acquiring knowledge that will become the foundation upon which they can build their future
What ACM Can Do?
NUST-SEECS ACM Chapter is a sub domain of the International Society “Association for Computing Machines”. It is with pleasure and confidence that the ACM NUST-SEECS Chapter states the mentioned horizon is being emulated here at university level and constant efforts are being made to spread the culture in the whole country by holding of national events where intellectuals, students and people from industry from varying places meet to improve upon the standing of the society.

1Fund Raising for Thar Victims:
ACM SEECS Chapter organized a fund raising event for the victims of Thar. The event was done as a part of Community Service course. The council arranged a total amount of 100,000 Rs and donated it to Ibrar-ul-Haq's NGO called "Sahara for Life Trust". A seminar was also organized for this purpose on 27th March 2014 in which Ibrar-ul-Haq was invited. Ibrar-ul-Haq received the donation himself and made a speech regarding future plans of social welfare. Almost 300 students attended this seminar. Refreshments were served after this seminar.
ACM SEECS Chapter organized a three days event named Robowars (A lego robot based competition) 21st to 24th March 2014. In this event 20 teams participated. The main three tasks of this event were "Slope Climbing", "Speed Racing" and "Sumo Wrestling". The first two days were allotted for the students to build and program there robots. Sumo Wrestling and Slope Climbing were more of intrest for the student. After the event a prize distribution ceremony was also held in which Sir Raza Kazmi was the chief guest. After that refreshments were served.
3Kinect Based Videography Workshop
During last summers, Ms. Melanie Moller visited SEECS. She is an Executive Producer, Director and Lecturer in UK. It was a two day event. On the first day, attendees learnt to use the software used for modeling while on the following day they were given topics they had to research on and then give presentations.
4Invited Talk on Strengthening Health Systems
ACM-SEECS organized a seminar on Health System. Mr. Shariq Khoja was the guest speaker. The key points were about the role of E-Health Systems, how the developers understood it and how to keep that systems updated.
5Qualcomm Toolkit Vuforia Workshop
ACM-SEECS organized a workshop on Qualcomm’s Augmented Reality toolkit named Vuforia. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Adeel Khalid who is currently employed at Qualcomm. It was a two day workshop in which the use of Vuforia was taught with Android.
ACM SEECS took part in the celebrations of CSED Week. Seminar on Augmented Reality and Programming Competitions were held. Hour of Code was also celebrated in which the students of high schools were taught to make apps mentioned in the CSED website.
7Peer to Peer
The purpose of the Peer-to-Peer mentorship program is to help students who are facing difficulty in any subject. Students, who request for help, are assigned a student tutor and a meeting arranged between them during a time, which is suitable for both. This service went on for the whole year.
A three day workshop was organized for the student to help them improve their programming skills. Students from final year volunteered to be the instructors. By the end of the workshop most of the students had gotten their concepts cleared.
9Advanced PhotoShop Workshop
Extending the last time’s basic Photoshop workshop, Sir Muneeb who is an excellent Graphic Designer again gave the workshop but this time on Advanced Photoshop. The workshop continued for a week
10Research Internship for Science and Technology for High School Students
The purpose of RIST is to promote science at school level and give high school students hands-on research experience by working on research projects with top class research scientists affiliated with public and private Universities in different parts of Pakistan.
All the new ACM members were given an orientation to officially welcome the members to their society. The chapter council had ice breaking sessions with the new members; giving them a chance to network and to get to know how society works.
Like every year, we held our membership drive during the start of the fall semester 2013. We welcomed the fresh blood with some interesting initiatives. The drive was from 30th Sept to 3rd October.
1Poster Designing Competition
A great poster design is something you should be proud of and show off. Now is your opportunity to do just that. ACM-SEECS is inviting all poster designers to submit their jaw-dropping poster designs — from music, movie poster designs to letterpress, typographic posters. We want to see it all! This design competition will be judged be an industry leader in poster design, and winners will appear in an exclusive online gallery.

3ACM Annual Dinner
A formal dinner will be arranged before the end of the academic calendar every year to celebrate the achievements of the Alma matter regarding research as well as other social activities. The dinner will also be an effort to bid farewell to the outgoing council of ACM SEECS and to welcome the newly formed council for the nest academic year. This year, the annual dinner will be taking place in late May.

SEECS ACM Chapter
ACM-SEECS provides international platforms to its students, to help them improve their technical and leadership skill. ACM is one of the oldest and most prestigious student body organizations of the school. The aim of ACM-SEECS is to promote computer science among students through a number of seminars and workshops.
